On the stage sits an ominous looking French Guillotine. The magician selects a volunteer and they are secured within the stocks. The solid steel blade dangles high above as some by-play goes on regarding the basket that is placed under the victim's head. Suddenly, without warning, the illusionist pulls the chain and the blade free-falls down through the stocks, through the
volunteer's head and comes to rest at the foot of the prop. The audience
member is miraculously unharmed! This illusion is designed to pack small, but play large. It's not a flimsy illusion, but rather a prop that looks the part.
